µP Displays 10 Bit Data on Three LEDs - 11/07/96 EDN-Design Ideas / (added 6/06)
circuit in Figure 1 uses a PIC16C55 µP to read 10-bit binary data and directly display
data in decimal format on three common-cathode LED displays. If value of data
exceeds 999, displays show three hyphens (---) to represent overflow. PIC16C55
has high drive.... |

12F675 as a Flip Flop - Code to make a 12F675 operate as a D-type or JK-type flip
flop. Since I implemented a D type flip flop using PIC Logic Elements I thought I
might go or way and implement an entire D type flip flop in a single PIC. This
uses edge triggered and port change status interrupts and was an opportunity to have
a play with interrupts on PIC.... (added 10/05) |

2.5 GHz Frequency counter - This project describes a very powerful frequency counter.
Very simple construction which everyone can build. 6 LED display will present the
frequency with 1kHz resolution and RS232 communication to computer is available as option.
The software has also been implemented with some smart functions, for calculating
frequencies in receivers where IF is 455kHz or 10.7MHz. I present schematic, PCB,
components and window software. ….(design added 11/08) |

2-Digit Counter - This article describes a 2-Digit Counter using a Microchip
PIC12F629. It shows what can be done with an 8-pin chip having just 5 output lines and one
input line. The chip drives two7-segment displays and this would normally require 7 lines
to drive the segments plus another one or two lines to select the displays.....(circuit /
