HeNe Laser Power Supply (Aaron Cake) - (circuit added 7/02)

High & Low Voltage Cut Off With Time Delay - The power line fluctuations and cut-offs cause damages to electrical appliances connected to the line. It is more serious in the case of domestic appliances like fridge and air conditioners. If a fridge is operated on low voltage, excessive current flows through the motor, which heats up, and get damaged.….(electronic schematic added 08/08)
High Current LM317 Regulated Power Supply - The high current regulator below uses an additional winding or a separate transformer to supply power for the LM317 regulator so that the pass transistors can operate closer to saturation and improve efficiency. For good efficiency the voltage at the collectors of the two parallel 2N3055 pass transistors should be close to the output voltage. ….(design added 11/08)

High Current Power Supply - Since my page was first posted, I have received a number of emails asking about a high current power supply. I looked around, but couldn't find one that was suitable. So, I designed this. It is a linear supply, which might have a few of you rolling your eyes, but it takes very few parts, is simple to build and can supply huge currents. ….(electronic schematic added 11/08)
High voltage Amplifier Drives piezo tubes - 12/07/04 EDN-Design Ideas: Piezoelectric tubular positioners that drive manipulators in scanning tunneling microscopes require high-voltage, low-current drive circuits. The circuit in Figure 1 can drive high-resistance, low-capacitance piezoelectric loads at a -3-dB bandwidth of 6 kHz. It offers a low-cost alternative to commercial drivers.....(design idea added 10/05)
High Voltage Amplifier uses simplified circuit - 10/14/04 EDN-Design Ideas: Many scientific instruments and sensors need ac high-voltage drive. High-voltage drive is useful for driving electrodes in many applications. The challenge is to boost the output of a conventional op amp to high voltages. Available ac high-voltage amplifier modules are limited to approximately 1200V p-p.....(design idea added 5/05)
High Voltage Breakdown Tester - (Not for beginners!)  The following circuit is used to determine the breakdown voltage of electronic components without causing permanent damage. The circuit quickly ramps the high voltage up from zero and stops when the leakage current reaches a preset amount up to 100 uA.  When power is applied the two-transistor flasher circuit drives the complimentary-symmetry....(electronic circuit added 7/03)
High Voltage Electronic Dazer - (schematic / circuit added 10/02)
High Voltage Generator (Charles Wenzel ) - The simple circuit can be used at very low frequencies, RF frequencies, low voltages, or even very high voltages with careful selection of transistors. The power handling capability and power consumption are also easily modified to suit the requirement.....(added 7/03)
High Voltage Generator for Low Current Applications - Scroll down to find this circuit.  Here is a simple circuit for generating over 100 volts from a 12 volt source for powering low current devices and experiments. The two transistors may be 2N4401 and 2N4403 or similar for lower power applications or higher....(electronic circuit added 7/03)
High Voltage High Current Power Supply (Aaron Cake) - lots of power form microwave oven transformer (added 04/03/02)
High voltage high frequency Amplifier drives piezoelectric PVDF transducer - 07/24/08 EDN-Design Ideas: Finding wide use in nondestructive testing, a high-voltage, high-frequency amplifier drives a piezoelectric PVDF transducer.....(design idea added 09/08)
High Voltage Low Current Supply - A high voltage power supply is a very useful source which can be effectively used in many applications like biasing of gas-discharge tubes and radiation detectors etc. Such a power supply could also be used for protection of property by electric charging of fences. Here the current requirement is of the order of a few microamps....  (added 10/05)
High Voltage Regulator is 100% surface mountable - 11/24/99 EDN-Design Ideas: It can be difficult to generatea high-voltage supply from a medium-voltage input, especially if you need a surface-mount design. It is difficult to find surface-mount components with the necessary specs, especially the transformer and power switches. High-voltage surface-mount capacitors can also be hard to locate. The circuit.....(design idea added 2/06)
How Van De GrAAff Generators work - Most of us have seen the device, known as a Van de Graaff generator that makes your hair stand on end. The device looks like a big aluminum ball mounted on a pedestal. Have you ever wondered what this device is, how it works, why it was invented, or how you might build1-yourself? (added 4/02)
