I am pretty sure this is simple but from my reading and such I can't find anything to help me. I want to simply have a transmitter with a button and a receiver with an LED that turns on when the button is pressed. the only other requirement is that it needs to have a range of about 500-800 ft.
I will continue to search but as I have little experience I have either overlooked material that is helpful or it is just so over my head I can't break it down and apply it to my design. It will do more I just need a starting point. Any help is much appreciated.
There are several places selling RF transmitters and matching receivers. Many are designed for battery operation with a simple key fob pushbutton. Here are a few.
