Battery Charging Current Indicator Circuit
designed by David A. Johnson, P.E.

This electronic hobby circuit is handy when you want to know if current if flowing into a battery from a charger module.  The simple circuit uses a common LM393 dual voltage comparator IC.  The LED indicator light will turn on when there is at least 25ma of current flowing.  The circuit shown is designed for a 12v battery but it could be used for other voltages with some minor component changes.  With the components shown, the maximum charging current should be less than 1 amp.
