A Precision Portable Voltage Reference - It has been said that a
man with one watch knows what time it is, but a man with two watches is
never sure. The same can be said for a person who has more than one
voltmeter. In my situation, I have several voltmeters in each of two
different locations a third of the way around the world apart. The best
solution would be to send the meters to NIST traceable calibration
labs,....(schematic / circuit added 6/08) |

A Push-Pull 300-watt Amplifier for 81.36 MHz - This article
describes a 300 watt amplifier for 81.36 MHz using a push-pull pair of
plastic packaged devices. The design techniques and construction practices
are described in enough detail to permit duplication of the amplifier.

A Superhet/Direct Conversion AM receiver for 181.818 kHz - This is a
description of an experimental AM receiver for VLF. It is crystal controlled to receive
181.818 kHz (more or less) and operates as either a single conversion superhetrodyne or a
direct conversion receiver. The bandwidths are expected to be 15 Hz to 3.5 kHz in superhet
mode and 15 Hz to 10 kHz in the direct conversion mode. Operation is from a
singler....(added 6/07) |

AM Farm Radio Power Supply - Prior to the 1950s, many rural areas in the US had
no electricity. Many companies sold battery operated vacuum tube radios for use in these
areas, the radios are commonly called Farm Radios. Farm radios are often available at very
reasonable prices and can make a good restoration project.... [G. Forrest Cook] |

Battery operated FM rebroADCast transmitter - (circuit added 6/07) |
|
BroADCast-Band RF Amplifier - The complete schematic is shown in Fig. 1. The
circuit has frequency response ranging from 100Hz to 3MHz; gain is about 30dB. Field
Effect Transistor Q1 is configured in the common-source self-biased mode; optional
resistor R1 allows you to set the input impedance to any desired value. Commonly, it will
be 50 ohms.…. [Tony van Roon's circuit] |

Crystal Radio RF Amplifier - One of the best places to add a transistor to a
simple crystal radio is at the front end in the form of an RF amplifier. The circuit below
is a simple but effective amplifier which will give surprising performance improvement.
