4-Cell Ni-Cad Regulator/Charger for Notebook Computers -  DN54  Design Notes (Linear Technology) (app note added 1/06)

A High Speed NiCd Charger for Electric R/C -  A few years back, I published a design for a Low Cost Thermal Peak Detection Charger. Since then, I've designed several other chargers, in my ongoing quest to avoid having to spend money. Of course, in building all these designs, I've probably spent more than a really good commercial charger would have cost me. But designing and building is half the fun... [Stefan Vorketter]

AA Battery Solar Charger (Solorb) -  This almost trivial circuit may be used to charge a pair of AA or AAA sized cells in  sun….(added 4/02)

Adjustable 3-Terminal Regulator for Low-Cost Battery Charging Systems -  National Semiconductor Application Note  (app note added 2/06)

AN-1075: Smart Battery Charging with COP8ACC -  National Semiconductor Application Note  (app note added 2/06)

AN2 Portable Ni-Cd Battery Charger: Inexpensive Load Tolerant Step-Up Energy Source -  Zetec Semiconductors  Applications Notes A relatively simple low parts count topology is presented for a one transistor design, that allows "in  field" re-charge of Ni-Cd battery packs from a convenient energy source such as an automotive battery. The note includes transformer design and winding details. Though designed for a specific case,  circuit and  principle employed should lend itself to many or applications.   (app note added 2/06)

AN26 Fast Charging Batteries with Zetex High Current PNP Transistors & Benchmarq Controller ICs -  Zetec Semiconductors  Applications Notes High current, fast switching PNP transistors are capable of replacing large packaged P-Channel MOSFETs, when attention is paid to  base drive requirements.  This enables space and performance efficient designs at much reduced cost.   (app note added 6/06)

AN667: Smart Battery Charger with Smbus Interface -  Microchip Application Note Published 26-Aug-97  (app note added 2/06)

AN-946: High-Efficiency 3a Battery Chargers Use LM2576 Regulators -  National Semiconductor Application Note  (app note added 2/06)

AN960: New Components & Design Methods Bring Intelligence to Battery Charger Applications -  Microchip Application Note Published 19-Nov-04  (app note added 2/06)
