Lamp Dimmer : This must generate an awfull lot of RFI without a choke! The house wiring supplies the di/dt limiting. This is a
CHEAP design which exhibits hysterisys at dim settings. Not everything made and sold to the public is top notch. (added 2/05) |

Lantern Flasher/Dimmer #2: (circuit / schematic design added 6/06) |

Lantern Flasher/Dimmer #3: The electronic lantern control circuit adds high-efficiency dimming and flashing to an existing
battery-powered lantern or flashlight or to a custom design. For the car it makes a great lamp for changing a flat tire, back seat reading or emergency engine work. The flasher mode is
useful for warning other drivers of your troubles and it may be adjusted to have a very short flash duration for long-term use as when the car must be left on the shoulder over night. When
camping it is great as a low-power night light for the tent or the portable 'potty'--you may select only as much
light as you need! The flasher mode is useful for finding a boat dock in the dark or even attracting fish. At home,... (added 2/06) |

Lantern Flasher/Dimmer: Basically a high-efficiency dimmer, but can also be used as a flasher. In dimmer mode, the LM358 (dual
op-amp) is wired to send pulses at a constant frequency. By adjusting the width of these pulses, brightness of the bulb is controlled. In flasher mode, the same potentiometer is used to control
the frequency from about 1 to 20 flashes per second. By lowering the brightness power consumption drops considerably, thus extending battery life. Flasher mode is even more efficient. This
nice little circuit will work with any DC power supply/battery from 4.5 to 15V. A heat sink on the TIP32 power transistor should not be necessary. (added 10/05) |

Light Dimmers uses Only Two Lines: 03/21/02 EDN-Design Ideas / (added 2/06) -The circuit in Figure 1 provides 32 steps of brightness control—from 0 to 100%—for a backlight or instrument
panel, using just two general-purpose-microprocessor signals. In addition, the circuit requires little board space, because it uses only three SOT-23s and one µMax package. Although Figure 1 shows
the circuit driving white LEDs,... |

Light Dimmer Circuit with 0 to 10 Volt Input: This is a simple dimmer circuit that can be controlled with0 -10 VDC. It is
designed for 110-Volt AC. (added 4/02) |

Linear Constant Current LED Lamp Dimmer: This circuits drives24 white light LEDs with an adjustable constant current. (added

|
Low Voltage Light Dimmer: A light dimmer is a means of controlling the "brightness" level of a lamp, in this application we
will use a555 Timer to control the brightness level of a low voltage incandescent bulb of up to 60-Watts. For the light dimmer to work the555 Timer is configured as a "variable cycle", astable
oscillator running some where around300 Hz. (added 7/03) |
