Toy Throttle with Zero Indication - The above schematic shows the addition
of a "Zero Indicating" circuit to the throttle. When the output voltage is between
+0.7 and -0.7 Volts both of the LED's, D3/4 will be OFF. As the output voltage
increases, either PLUS or MINUS, one of the LED's will turn ON....scroll down to find

Traffic Light - This project operates red, amber and green LEDs in the
correct sequence for a single UK traffic light. The time taken for the complete red,
red & amber, green, amber sequence can be varied from about 7s to about 2½ minutes. A
4017 counter is used to produce the traffic light sequence and this project could be

Transformer Type Block Occupancy Detector - VT-5 - This block occupancy
detection circuit uses a current sense transformer to isolate the detector circuit
from the track power circuit. The output section of the circuit takes its power from
an external power supply and uses a LM555 timer to provide the release time delay and
both an Open Collector and Bipolar output each detector. [from Rob Paisley's Model

Transformer Type-DCC Block Occupancy Detectors - In these circuits a
transformer is used to isolate the detector circuitry from the track power circuit.

Tunnel Stretcher - Do you find your tunnels a bit short? Does the train pop
out of the far end moments after the last coach disappears from view? This module will
automatically add some time to the train's trip through the tunnel. It can also be
used to control signals at stations, making a train wait for a predetermined time
before letting it continue....(design added 05/05) |
Turnout Anti-Derail Protection - The circuits presented here will prevent
turnouts from being thrown while a train is on the switch, ideal where the switch
cannot be seen by the operator. They use phototransistor sensors to detect the train
and have a short time delay to compensate for gaps between cars. The circuit can also
be used to protect crossovers and ladder tracks with the addition of more sensors.

Two-Tone Train Horn - With this circuit you can electronically simulate the
noise of a diesel-train horn. The sound is triggered automatically as the train
reaches a desired place on the track so you can produce the sound as the train
approaches stations, level crossings, etc. The circuit can be built simply by using
one 556 or two 555 timers. The rest of the parts are readily available and not
critical. The output....[Tony van Roon's circuit] |
