DIY remote control based on PIC - Control up to 8 devices by this
easy constructable remote control. It can work as a radio or infrared remote
control, depending on the components. Each device output can be configured
to be momentary (turned on while you press the button) or latched. Latched
outputs can be toggled on/off by one button per channel, or turned on and
off by two buttons per channel…. [Peter Jakab, Electrical Engineer, Engineer
of Informatics] |

DTMF RECEIVER - Today, most telephone equipment use a DTMF
receiver IC. One common DTMF receiver IC is the Motorola MT8870 that is
widely used in electronic communications circuits. The MT8870 is an 18-pin
IC. It is used in telephones and a variety of other applications.. ….(design

Dual-Mode Whistler Receiver - This portable receiver may be completely
powered by a recorder or other device designed to use button microphones or it can use
its internal battery to provide headphone listening. I decided to see if I could
increase the values on the notch filter like that used in the computer-powered
receiver above by nearly a factor of 10. Since this receiver will be able
to....(electronic design added (6/07) |

Experiments with Detector Diodes - When building crystal radios or other
simple receivers, the experimenter often wonders about the relative performance of the
different diodes in the junk box. Here are the results of several experiments using

FM Radio Microphone with Internal Loop Antenna (Area 50) - This article
began as a design guide for hyper cranial erogenic field generators, however, your
primitive earth brains are completely unable to respond to erogenic fields in the
100MHz region. I personally had a brain upgrade (for purely medical purposes of
course) so I am able to respond....(schematic / circuit added 4/08) |

FM Radio Transmitter (David Sayles) - This small transmitter uses a Hartley
type oscillator. Normally the capacitor in the tank circuit would connect at the base
of the transistor, but at VHF the base emitter capacitance of the transistor acts as a
short circuit, so in effect, it still is. The coil is four turns of 18swg wire wound
around a quarter inch former. The aerial tap is about one and a half turns from the
supply end. Audio sensitivity is very good when used with an ECM type microphone
insert. |

FM Receivers - Here is how you make a superregenerative circuit. Choose a
regenerative amplifier circuit configuration that requires more current during
oscillations than when not oscillating. Adjust the regenerative amplifier to
oscillate. Add a small circuit that uses the current of the amplifier to charge a
capacitor while oscillations are taking place. Once the capacitor is charged, the
voltage on.... |
