The Ultimate Wireless Volume Control - 17-Aug-11 -Design News: Andrew Morris decided the usual wireless volume controls don’t offer enough functionality, so he created the ultimate volume control that connects between a computer or MP3 player and an amplified speaker system. __ Designed by Andrew R. Morris, Gadget Freak-Case #192 TinyIR Learning IR Remote Control Receiver - Adding iR remote control to your next project, or to an existing one just got a whole lot easier. With TinyiR, just apply power, train the chip to recognize the key codes you want to use, and you're ready to go. Code patterns are safely stored in internal non-volatile EEPROM. The chip can be re-trained many times if needed__
Transistor junction monitors remote temperature - 06/22/00 EDN Design Ideas: The circuit in Figure 1 uses a regular, general-purpose transistor as the sensing element and a thermal-diode monitor IC to measure temperature. The ADM1021 usually connects to an on-chip thermal diode on a CPU die itself, but in this application the sensor connects to a regulator low-cost discrete npn transistor, the 2N3904 Design by Matt Smith, Analog Devices, Limerick, Ireland
Transistor junctions monitor temperature zones - 12/31/69 EDN Design Ideas: A simple circuit uses transistor junctions to monitor multiple temperature zones. The temperature sensors are ordinary, general-purpose, low-cost, diode-connected transistors. The well-known diode equation VBE = (kT/q) 'ln (IC /iS) shows that there is a temperature dependency of approximately 2.2 mV/°C for a base-emitter junction. Transmit to a Remote LED Indictor Light - There are times when you would like to transmit a signal from one LED indicator light to second LED at another location. The circuit below works well for this application. it takes advantage of the fact that the internal infrared LED inside an opto-isolator . . . Hobby Circuit designed by Dave Johnson P.E.-December, 2008
TV /VCR Remote Range Extender Circuit - i often get frustrated by how poor some infrared remotes in many new electronic devices operate. I used to be able to turn on the TV from 30 feet away. Now, it seems that I have to get within 15 feet. To address this issue, I designed the circuit shown below. The circuit taps into the TV remote’s existing infrared LED and drives 8 more efficient devices. The result is a communications range some 4 to 5 times longer.. . . Circuit by David A. Johnson P.E.-October, 2005
TV Remote Control Jammer - Scroll to this one - Do you have an incessant channel hopper that is driving you crazy? Or perhaps you simply want to enforce your own selections. The TV Remote Control Jammer will do the trick. This circuit is a redo of an older design which is not effective on modern remotes. Modern remote controls are hard to jam but with a little care this circuit will do the job. The circuit is just a flasher operating at 40 kHz which is the carrier frequency used by common remote controls. The strong 40 kHz infrared flashing interferes with the signal from the remote.

TV-VCR Light Source 40Khz Repeater - This circuit is designed to be placed directly in front of a standard TV or VCR remote. The exiting light pulses produced by the circuit match the pulses from the remote but are about 10 times more powerful . . . Hobby Circuit designed by David Johnson P.E.-June, 2000
Two Wire Stepper Motor Positioner - A simple and inexpensive way to remotely rotate a display or object is with a positioner that uses a stepper motor to rotate it. The motor is driven by a circuit mounted near the motor and by a control circuit at a remote location. __ Golab.com
Two-wire remote sensor preamp - 01/13/14 EDN Design Ideas: Locally condition and amplify a distant sensor using only a two-wire connection for both power and signal - This Design idea implements a remote sensor preamp (e.g., for a piezoelectric transducer) which transfers both signal and power over a single wire pair or coax Design by Vladimir Rentyuk
UHF Remote 2-Channel 230VAC Power Switch - if you're looking for a mains "switch" which can be operated from some distance away, this low-cost, simple project could be just what you want. With a UHF remote control and two switched "channels", it needs very little power thanks to the use of latching relays.__ SiliconChip
UHF Remote Controlled Mains Switch - Want to switch mains appliances on and off remotely? This UHF Remote Mains Switch can do it for you. it's operated using a hand-held UHF transmitter or you can team it with the Water Tank Level Meter Base Station described last month to automatically control mains-operated water pumps. An in-built timer also enables the unit to turn off automatically after a preset period.__ SiliconChip
UHF Remote Mains Switch Transmitter - Designed to control the UHF Remote Mains Switch, this hand-held transmitter can operate over a 200m range. it's based on a PIC micro and a pre-assembled transmitter module, making it easy to build and get going.__ SiliconChip
Ultimate Universal Remote Control - 19-Aug-2009 Couch potatoes should be particularly interested in Bill Bowden's remote control iR receiver, which allows users to control the power of virtually any electrical appliance (including those not equipped for remote) using their standard remote control. it's based on an iR receiver circuit, which is basically a simple toggle switch that features a 48KHz iR receiver module to convert iR signals to 5V digital data representing the particular command sent. So switch a fan or lights on and off, blend up a pitcher of margaritas, pop popcorn and more, all without leaving your couch a euro " possibly ever. __ Gadget Freak-Case 147
Ultrasonic Remote Control and Intruder Detector - This transmitter is designed to work with the next circuit as a remote control transmitter/receiver. it is only a single channel and you could once get multi-channel chips for the whole job. However ultrasonics have fallen out of favour commercially so I think most of these chips are now obsolete. __ Designed by Richard Torrens
Universal Infrared Controller for a PC - This simple circuit allows you to record any infrared remote control signal on your PC, and then play it back. This is particularly useful if you want to control appliances such as TVs, VCRs, CDs etc. from your computer. The device simply connects to the parallel port of your PC. This circuit was originally published in Electronics Australia, September1998 __ Designed by shaunwilson19 @ yahoo.com
Universal IR Remote Control Tester - This tester consists of two integrated remote control receivers whose outputs drive an LED to indicate when a suitable infrared signal is received. To cover all current infrared remote controls, one receiver (the TSOP1736) has maximum sensitivity to carriers at 36 kHz, the other (the TSOP1738) to carriers at 38 kHzmust register on this site __ Designed by Published in Elecktor July/Aug, 2010
Universal RC5/RC6 Transceiver with PIC16F628 - This project is an expansion from another project from this website. On the one side you can read the RC5, RC5X and RC6 codes from remote controls on a LCD and on the other hand you can send all thinkable RC5, RC5X and RC6 codes to a device. Besides is for this project a PCB layout drew to make it still more easier for you. __
