Circuits Designed by Dave Johnson, P.E. :
Plastic Pipe Finder
I used this circuit once to track down the location of a plastic pipe, buried underground.  It transmits a weak RF signal, which can be picked up by a portable AM radio from about 6 feet away.

Plastic Pipe Finder -  I used this circuit once to track down the location of a plastic pipe, buried underground.  It transmits a weak RF signal, which can be picked up by a portable AM radio from about 6 feet away.  (added 12/04) …. [Designed by David A. Johnson]
QRP Keyer -  very simple keyer circuit using only one transistor.
Radio Remote Control using DTMF -  Here is a circuit of a remote control unit which makes use of the radio frequency signals to control various electrical appliances.  This remote control unit has 4 channels which can be easily extended to 12.  This circuit differs from similar.... [Radioland.net]
Remote control using VHF modules -  A few designs for remote control switches, using VG40T and VG40R remote control pair, are shown here. The miniature transmitter module shown in Fig. 1, which just measures 34 mm x 29 mm x 10 mm, can be used to operate all remote control receiver-cum-switch combinations described in this project.... RF Transmitter for PIR Sensors -  (Circuit design added 8/03)
Simplest RF Transmitter -  A very simple radio transmitter…. [Tony van Roon's circuit]
Sonification Software Project -  This is a Radio Astronomy Project… [from Radio-Sky Publishing's web site]
SSB ADAPTOR -  Build this simple adaptor to receive single side band SSB on short wave AM receivers.

Surplus 30 to 80 MHz filter -  This is a Radio Astronomy Project… [from Radio-Sky Publishing's web site]
The "UnFETtered Crystal Radio! -  ….
Two band radio -  Schematic only, no circuit description
Video emitter uses battery power -  30-Aug-01 Issue of EDN  The block diagram in Figure 1 shows how to make a cable-free, direct-video system. The system allows users to walk from booth to booth at an exhibition to interview people and to display the interviews in real time on three screens at key locations. You can use the small and simple system each time you need to capture image and sound on the run.... [Design Idea by JM Terrade, Clermont-Ferrand, France]
Video/Audio Wireless Transmitter -  To design and build a wireless transmitter that works over the FM frequency and allows the transfer of a video/audio signal over a certain distance to a FM tuner.circuit diagram and project description (added 5/02)
VLF to Shortwave Upconverter -  This is a Radio Astronomy Project… [from Radio-Sky Publishing's web site]
Wireless Microphone -  Circuit & notes only, no circuit description given…. [Tony van Roon's circuit]
