Simple +/- 22Voltage Regulator - The following diagram is provided
for anyone who would like to include a voltage regulator but who does not
want to use one of the ic versions (as in the updated, regulated supply for
the 1996 design).... |
|
Simple Adjustable Voltage Source - A simple but less efficient
methode of controlling a DC voltage is to use a voltage divider and
transistor emitter follower configuration. The figure below illustrates
using a 1K pot to set the base voltage of a medium power NPN transistor.…. |

Simple circuits sort out the highest voltage - 9-Nov-06 Issue of
EDN Greatest-of-three voltage detector drives indicators and external
display.... [Design Idea by Ezio Rizzo, Nova SNC, Genoa, Italy, and Vincenzo
Pronzato, Felmi SRL, Genoa, Italy; Edited by Brad Thompson and Fran
Granville] |

Simple Regulator Provides ±12V from 5V Source - National Semiconductor
Application Note (app note added 2/06) |
|
Simple temperature regulated FAN speed Controller - This regulator uses a
P-FET to change the positive supply voltage to a FAN an NTC resistor mounted on the
device that needs cooling will change the fan speed, the temperature on the heat sink
will therefore be constant, while the FAN speed will change, depending on power
disipated The RPM output signal from most FAN types will continue to
function,....(schematic added 05/08) |

Simple VCOM adjustment uses any logic supply voltage - 30-Sep-04 Issue of
EDN All TFT (thin-film-transistor] LCD panels require at least one appropriately
tuned VCOM signal to provide a reference point for the panel's backplane. The exact
value of VCOM varies from panel to panel, so the manufacturer must program the voltage
at the factory to match the characteristics of each screen.... [Design Idea by Peter
Khairolomour and Alan Li, Analog Devices, San Jose, CA] |

Single Transistor Forward Reference Design - Single Transistor Forward with
Vin 115/220 Vac and Vout 12 V. The output current 10 A with 120 W of output power.

Small Variable power Supply - Features: 1.3-12.2 V, 1 A, over-current
protection. This is a simple but reliable device based one of the oldest
integrated voltage regulators of them all - the LM723…. [Aaron Cake's design] |

Soft Start PSU - Two soft start power supplies. The output voltage slowly
increases to the desired output…. [Miroslav Adzic] |

Soft-start regulator starts at 0V - 6-Jun-96 Issue of EDN The circuit
in Figure 1b overcomes these disadvantages. Unlike simpler approaches, this circuit
starts up at an output of 0V. This circuit doesn't add any reactive components
to the feedback circuit, which prevents any impact on stability and transient
response.... [Design Idea by Gerald L Kmetz, Micrel Semiconductor, San Jose, CA] |

Solar panel regulator - A simple but good linear shunt voltage regulator for
solar panels, that includes deep-discharge protection. This design is for 12V
systems with panels delivering up to 7A, but it can be easily scaled for other sizes.
I have built several of these regulators. [Manfred Mornhinweg] |
|
Stabilised power unit - I made the stabilised power unit which used the
switching regulator. AC100 V is used for the input of the power unit. The output
voltage can be changed from 5 V to 30 V. The output current can pour a maximum of 4 A.
I made this power unit as the power unit of the electronic circuits making for the
experiment....(schematic added 05/08) |
