Battery Free LED Flasher
LED flashers have been used for a wide variety of applications. Some flasher
units have been used in food and hardware stores, to draw attention to sale items
and are often attached to boxes which dispense product discount coupons. Typically,
as the illustration below depicts, these simple units have a red LED, on each side
of the housing. Inside, is a battery and flasher circuit....

Bicycle Back Safety Light - this circuit has been designed to provide a
clearly visible light, formed by 13 high efficiency flashing LEDs arranged in a
pseudo-rotating order. Due to low voltage, low drain battery operation and small size,
the device is suitable for mounting on bicycles as a back light, or to put on by
jogger/walkers (schematic added 06/07/08) |
Bike Light Flasher (Randy Linscott) - This circuit will flash an
incandescent light that you can purchase from Radio Shack. Adjust the VR's for your
flash requirements and make sure that the lamp you use is designed to put out high
brightness. (electronic design added 08/08/08) |
Bike Turning Signal - This circuit can be used to indicate left and right
turn on a motor-bike. Two identical circuits will be needed, one for left and one for
right…. |
Birthday Heart - This circuit was made for my wife's birthday. It is capable
of flashing five strings of LED's with different frequencies. It also has a connector
for an 8 Ohm loudspeaker and two connectors for the small PCB's that are contained in
musical greeting cards. In this way the circuit will play alternatingly two room
filling tunes at regular time intervals. After a w..... |
Brakelight Flasher - This is basically a flasher circuit modified to turn on
and off a bulb instead of a LED. It uses a 555 timer IC working as an astable
multivibrator. The flashing rate can be varied from very fast to a maximum of once in
1.5 sec by varying preset VR1. The ON time of circuit is given by:
TON= 0.69xC1x(R1 + VR1) second and OFF time is: TOFF= 0.69xC1xVR1 second.....

Brakelight hookup - This circuit is NOT a pulser or flasher! What's so
special about this circuit? Well, the first third-brake light I installed I had to
pull a wire from the Third Brake Light all the way underneath the carpet to the
brake-pedal-switch and I thought it would be easier to pluck the signal of both
brakelights via the trunk. Bench-test your circuit first and apply power to the
circuit,.... [Tony van Roon's circuit] |
