PIC Based RS485 Multiplexer - Recently, I had to design a circuit real quick that transmitted 4 parallel TTL data bits over 350m of twisted pair cable. I needed to feed in four parallel data bits at one end, and get 4 parallel data bits out the other end, completely transparent to the transmitting and receiving circuits(added 11/05)
Printer Port Controls Video Multiplexer - 08/01/96 EDN-Design Ideas....The circuit in Figure 1 is a four-channel video-signal multiplexer. Eight-bit binary data (of which only 3 bits are used] from a PC's parallel printer port controls the multiplexing operation. The inputs for all the channel....[Design Idea by Shyam Tiwari, SR&HPG, IGCAR, Kalpakkam, India]
Scanmate Audio Activated Recorded -  Add this easy project to your regular scanner or DX'ing apparatus and never miss action again.  Or use this system to check a range of frequencies for band activity when you're not there.  I use it to check a range of 'secret' frequencies overnight when I'm sleeping.  Works for me....[Tony van Roon's circuit]

Short-wave scanner converter - Schematic only, no circuit description
The Capacitance Multiplier - The power supply for the original 1969 JLH design included a form of capacitance multiplier to reduce the amount of voltage ripple on the supply rail. The capacitance multiplier circuit has been developed further, by Rod Elliott of Elliot Sound Products, and the results published as Project 15 at the ESP Audio Pages. The modified circuit is suitable for both the original 1969 JLH amplifier (using only the positive half of the circuit) and the 1996 update. The design considerations for the capacitance multiplier, its benefits, and a comparison with voltage regulators are included in the Project article. ….(design added 11/08)
Tiny RGB Video Multiplexer Switches Pixels at 100MHz - DN205  Design Notes (Linear Technology) (app note added 6/06)
Two Diode Odd-Order Multiplier - It is often necessary to multiply the frequency of low noise oscillators without significantly degrading the phase noise beyond the theoretical 20 log (N). Low noise frequency doublers constructed with Schottky signal diodes are readily available but higher-order multipliers often....

Video multiplexer uses high-speed op amps - 21-Aug-03 Issue of EDN  Video multiplexers route video from several sources to a single channel. Low-end consumer products use CMOS analog switches and multiplexers, such as the 4066 and 4051. Unfortunately, these devices have a series on-resistance that ranges from approximately 100Ω to 1 kΩ, a resistance that is not constant with video level and that appears in series with the signal....[Design Idea by Bruce Carter, Texas Instruments, Dallas, TX]
Voltage reference stabilizes current sink - 18-Feb-10 Issue of EDN  Produce a stable current for long-term component testing....[Design Idea by Suded Emmanuel, Emmanuel’s Controls, Auckland, New Zealand]
Voltage Regulator controls scanner Lamp brightness - 05/13/99 EDN-Design Ideas....An image-scanning device performs best when the scanner IC controls the brightness of the image reflected into the light sensors. The best way to control brightness is by adjusting the intensity, or light output, of the fluorescent lamp that shines light....PDF contains many circuits, scroll to find this one.… [Design Idea by Chester Simpson, National Semiconductor, Santa Clara, CA]
