Temperature Monitor using 741 opamp -   A simple op - amp circuit that will trigger a relay when a preset temperature is reached.  Please note that there is no hysteresis in this circuit, so that if the temperature changes rapidly, then the relay may switch rapidly.   __ Designed by Andy Collison

Test Power - Outage Susceptibility -   03/03/97 EDN Design Ideas:  Brief (1 sec or shorter) power outages are common in developing countries and seem to be increasing in the United States.  They are generally nondestructive, so power - protection equipment should not trip and disconnect the load.  Electric motors do not appreciably slow, and electronic equipment can usually ride through the outages on the energy stored in filter capacitors.  As a point of reference, a 10 - msec outage makes an incandescent light bulb flicker.  At 100 msec, you can see the bulb go completely dark.  Figure 1 shows a simple circuit for generating brief outages for equipment - susceptibility testing.    Design by Ron Tipton, TDL Electronics, Las Cruces, NM

Tiny Dew Sensor -   Dew (condensed moisture) adversely affects the normal performance of sensitive electronic devices.  A low - cost circuit described here can be used to switch off any gadget automatically in case of excessive humidity. At...__ Electronics Projects for You

Tomato Can Lightning Detector -   Schematic + info + pictures __ Designed by Lennie Zink

Transistor & FVCs Make Linear Anemometer -   09/26/96 EDN Design Ideas:  The basic operation of this front - end sensor is identical to that of the earlier circuit.  Q1 is the self - heated airflow sensor; Q2 senses ambient temperature.  Zero - adjust resistor R2 sets the zero - airflow quiescen Design by W Stephen Woodward, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC

Transistor Trio Makes Vector Anemometer -   09/01/97 EDN Design Ideas:  A previously published Design idea (Reference 1] uses a heated transistor as an airspeed - to - frequency converter.  Because it uses only one transistor, the circuit cannot determine the direction of airflow.  Alternatively,  Design by W Stephen Woodward, Chemistry Department, University of North Carolina - - Chapel Hill

Transmitter senses triple relative - humidity figures -   09/26/02 EDN Design Ideas:  The circuit in Figure 1 is a triple, relative - humidity sensor and radio transmitter.  Sensors 1 and 2 form two gated oscillators with natural frequencies of 10 and 5 kHz, respectively, at relative humidity of 50%.  The gated oscillators use variable resistances R2 and R3, respectively.  Together, these two oscillators generate FSK - modulated outputs at output of IC 1B, Pin 6 Design by Shyam Tiwari, Sensors Technology Ltd, Gwalior, India

Weather Logger -   Presented here is a personal weather logger whose various transducers are used to log weather data such as humidity, atmospheric pressure and temperature.  The data is transferred to PC where it...__ Electronics Projects for You

Weather Station -   Weather station with pressure reading, relative humidity, indoor remote outdoor temperature display.  Both Celsius or Fahrenheit mbar/hPa or mm Hg supported.  With calendar clock.  Easy 3 - button user - menu.42 hour - history display (curve).  Auto - memory __ Designed by Radio LocMan

Weather station with pressure reading, relative humidity, indoor & remote temperature reading -   Weather station with pressure reading, relative humidity, indoor & remote outdoor temperature display.  Both Celsius or Fahrenheit & mbar/hPa or mm Hg  supported.  With calendar & clock.  Easy 3 - button user - menu.42 hour - history display (curve).  Auto - memory & display of all high and low - values.  PIC  18F452 running at 4 MHz, sleep mode. __ Designed by Michel Bavin

Weather - Forecast Monitoring System -   Weather forecasts play an important role in our day - to - day life.  A good weather monitoring system helps in better planning and any preparations that may be required in case of adverse weather. This...__ Electronics Projects for You

Wet Bulb Psychrometer -   The LTC2990 is used to monitor system temperatures, voltages and currents.__ Linear Technology/Analog Devices App Note, Oct 26th 2010

Wind Direction & AirFlow Measurement -   The LTC2990 is used to monitor system temperatures, voltages and currents.  Through the i2C serial interface, the device can be configured to measure many combinations of internal temperature, remote temperature, remote voltage, remote current and internal VCC.  The internal 10ppm/°C reference minimizes the number of supporting __ Linear Technology/Analog Devices App Note, Mar 16th 2011

Wind gauge -   On this page, I will introduce the wind gauge using PIC .  There are various methods of measuring the speed of a wind.  With this equipment, a hemispherical window cup is rotated and the method of measuring wind velocity at that number of rotations is used.  The measured number of rotations is sent to a personal computer with a USB interface, and wind velocity is displayed on a screen.   __ Designed by Seiichi Inoue

Wind speed logger -   This wind logger project was designed to help a friend who wants to log wind speed for one year.  it uses an inexpensive cup anemometer from Biral (see photo, left) available here in the UK.  The anemometer contains a reed switch with rotating magnets which produce two switch closures per revolution of the cup assembly. __ Designed by Hans Summers

Wind speed logger Mk2 -   Following quick on the heels of the Mk1 Windlogger project, I had built this new version which incorporates a host more features.  The new version includes datalogging to an SD - card with Date/Time stamp as well as an onboard temperature sensor and light intensity sensor.  External analogue inputs allow for logging wind direction too if your anemometer supports it. __ Designed by Hans Summers

Wireless Temperature & Humidity Sensor with USB -   this project is based on obdev's Remote Sensor example and their firmware - only USB implementation; the main change is the replacement of the analog sensors with a Sensirion SHT11 digital temperature and humidity sensor__

Wireless Weather Station. Part 1 -   in the Midwest, the main topics of conversation may include the local football team or how the crops are doing.  inevitably though, the conversation always leads to the weather.  Most of us take the weather for granted __ Designed by Jerry Wasinger

X Clock Lightning Detector -   Schematic + info + pictures __ Designed by Lennie Zink
